Having seen a number of whales from shore along the Sapphire Coast, we decided to join a Cat Balou whale watching cruise in the hope of closer encounters. The seas were calm and the weather was perfect. However, the whales were not cooperating and the Cat Balou was searching for them for about half an hour, until eventually encountering a mother and calf, who provided great entertainment with breeches for more than 20 minutes! Well worth the wait! Brad and Lana were exceptional, providing lots of facts on whales and other wildlife (dolphins, seals, albatrosses) we also encountered during the cruise. The Cat Balou is a great boat providing excellent vantage points, as well as adequate shelter for windier conditions. The cruise is great value for money and we recommend this to everyone.
What a fabulous cruise! We were lucky enough to see a real show from the whales out on the water. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Right down to going inside to find my 3 year old daughters jacket when she got cold - so she could stay outside and didn't miss any of the action on the water! Thank you! We had a wonderful morning.
